The Arab Revolution deals a blow to 'Project Israel'

Hilary Clinton's message that the US wants to make Egypt a model democracy in the region seems like as if it's yet another pitch to keep the country as a satellite state that it was under the 'moderate' dictator Hosni Mubarak.

During all those thirty years under Mubarak and a dozen or so years under Anwar Sadat, the US didn't care so much as a hoot for the suffering of the Egyptian under the brutal tyranny of the US's favourite dictators. And the US heaped praise for protecting their interests and for keeping the region stable. Stability was the operative word. Now the ruling elite in the US root for democracy in Egypt and that's because the very people they oppressed through Mubarak and his cronies are about to take the reins of power.

US, EGYPT AND TIANANMEN

US, Egypt and Tiananmen

A joke once doing the rounds talked about a principal catching two teachers misbehaving on a bench on the school premises. So he sacked both the teachers. But then political pressure was brought on him and the two teachers were reinstated. Wanting to stamp his authority he said he would show who was boss and thundered at a PTA meeting, 'Remove the bench'. In a similar manner Barak Obama has ordered the sacking of the Egyptian cabinet while the culprit and his puppet, Hosni Mubarak, remains in the seat of power … at least for now.

‘Show mercy and you will be shown mercy’ - Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him)

Every Muslim is obliged to love the prophet
The assassination of Salman Taseer must come, not only as a rude shock to those Ulemah (Muslim scholars) who had not lent their voices of reason and logic in the charged atmosphere Pakistan finds itself in, but also as a wake up call. It’s about time they got into action and explain to Muslims the requirement of mercy, love, compassion and forgiveness that is enshrined in the Qur’an.
